The Chequesset Lens

The towns of Wellfleet and South Truro are served by the Chequesset Lens. This lens is 17 square miles with a maximum elevation of 8 feet.

In the off-season, an average of 0.5 million gallons/day are withdrawn from the lens. In the summer season, the water volume withdrawn rises to an average of 1.5 million gallons/day.
